I am fine except my public exams are just round the corner and we have cut offs in colleges like 98% or 99% and I am so not studying so I am totally dead and I am applying as an international student to college so there's that...but apart from that, I am awesome. How have you been? Heard about the new PJO play?
Really? I didn't know that. Here, 18 years old are trying to clear IIMs and JEEs and what not and then spend entire days studying for the next eight to ten years depending on what you are studying and then you get a desk job or become a doctor or engineer. At least, that's what most parents dream for their kids.
Gaurd? Again, scary. I can't even walk from my room to the kitchen at night without reciting most of the hymns and prayers that are supposed to ward off ghosts that I know. Unless I am going to take a book or my laptop, or am writing I am too scared of the dark and that is despite being a night owl.
I never knew that about Indian culture actually it sounds a little weird to me. Guarding btw is nothing bad haha im used to scary stuff as a horror fan. And the reason the culture sounds weird to me is because I think if it makes you happy then you should pursue it. But that's just me.
It is weird. Most people, including Indian students, think so, but personally,I think it's a lot because of our education system which only lets you study certain combinations which reduces the chance of creativity in career a lot (for example- you cannot study psychology and biology together here, in grade XI you will have to make a choice between the two which kills off any career which requires both subjects) and because people aren't really open to new careers. They want the "safe" route and mostly there are family businesses but then India is huge and every state sort of has its own culture and some places there is "follow the family trend" while in others you are allowed to do what you want but that is rare.
It does suck.Wow, someone stole the power supply? That's horrible! My keyboard drowned a few weeks bac and it was torture! I can't imagine going months without a computer. I am awesome. My exams finally ended, even if results come out in a week, andIgot a new TV Show obsession.Imean it's not perfect but when is life perfect? What about you? How's life been?
Life is good. Got a job that I'm ok with and been hanging out with friends more, while fighting with some people more so than usual. And I'm going back to college in the winter for phlebotomy. Obviously it isn't a perfect life but perfection is boring to me.
Welcome! Me? I gave public exams which took months, applied to and got in college, then decided to do a diploma course in my own country befoe leaving for college somewhere else, got a new fanfiction obsession, wrote a bit and will now have to apply to the diploma courses. What about you?
Thats awesome! I hope you have a good time at college and hope you come to Iowa for your out of country studies lol. And I've gotten a lot of things done, moved out of my apartment away from bad roommates, reconnected with old friends, made new ones, and even had 8 months of happiness with my GF. I can't wait to start college back up though it'll be cool!
Welcome and thanks. I will be studying creative writing and English for the diploma year, might add psychology in the mix. Same goes for college, with biology on the side. Maybe history but not too sure on that.
That's pretty cool actually! From personal expierence Psychology was enjoyable and I had good class talk about it when I first went to college, along with creative writing, it was my favorite class of all!
Well it depends on the teacher and the college you go to. Like highschool actually just more advanced. Also the teachers will not ask you about homework or anything and if it's late it's late. There are teacher's who won't accept late stuff. My teacher's were pleasent but that was because I was still doing highschool credits since I dropped out of highschool.
This is Squall just on my cell. There's a lot of teachers in America, from personal experience at least, that gives us a packet of stuff to read and the say, "good luck." And by talks i mean classroom discussions where us students would talk about something related and it can start with a simple question that turns into a 15 minute conversation. Its awesome to me actually.
Oh! We don't have this but I took this one course in my last two years of high school which is like an advanced lit course and we had the discussion thing. It was awesome. That's like the only thing from high school I miss more than once a while.
Harry Potter, Doctor who, mortal instruments, redo fics, soulmate aus, fake relationship and the usual stuff like next generation fics and so on. Cant find any good redo fics anymore which sucks coz they are my favorite type of fics to read.
